Projects

The organisation has continued to deliver on its vision and objectives through various initiatives and projects.

A week in and For Nigeria

One of such initiative is called “A week in and For Nigeria”, a vision conceived by one of the organisation’s former leader, Sir Chibuzo Ubochi KSC. Following the success of this event in 2022, this has now been adopted by NIDO Europe and NIDO Worldwide and a contingent of Nigeria Diaspora from Europe and Americas will be participating in this year’s edition. The success of 2022 witnessed various homeland development activities such as the delivery of Information Technology – designing Interactive Interfaces with humans as the focus to group of youth who are now empowered with job opportunities as a result. This training was delivered by one of our youth, Hon Elvis Rindmap. Some of the individuals trained are now giving back to charitable activities in Nigeria.

Project Management Training

There was also delivery of Project Management Training by Dr Ayodele to various group in Nigeria including the Nigeria Policewomen. Furthermore, the event always culminates visit to less privileged homes and organisation such as Osaze Orphanage and Abino Foundations where the good works being undertaken by them were supported with cash and good donations. This event also included visits to many MDAs where areas of collaborations on how to move the nation forward were identified. Those who cannot visit, are encouraged to get engaged with Nigeria in other ways. It is worthy to note that these activities are self-funded by individuals partaking and resources are centralised to achieve the objectives. This year a Team of NIDO UKS have arrived in Nigeria since over a week again in conjunction with other members of Nigeria in Diaspora Organisation Europe (NIDOE) delivering Medical Outreaches, visiting various ministries to identify areas of collaborations for homeland development and delivering various aids in cash and goods to less privileged in the society.

Individual Led Projects

NIDO UKS also encourages individual led projects that would facilitate Direct Foreign Investments to Nigeria. It is already a known fact that the remittances from Nigeria in Diaspora to Nigeria is a huge element of our economic prosperity as a nation.

2023 International Election Observers

It is worthy to note that, NIDO UKS were part of the 2023 International Election Observers, set up a situation room to also allow Nigerians in Diaspora worldwide to be part of the election process by holding constructive discussion on the state of the nation. As part of NIDO UKS effort to sensitise Nigerians in Diaspora about patriotism and nationalism a weekly discussions programme was designed. This programme focused on key areas of national life and making recommendations on how to resolve some of the national challenges. NIDO UKS is also working in conjunction with the Nigerian High Commission in London to provide support to Nigerians and provide the Bridge between the mission and Nigerian community for information flow and resolution of difficult situation.
