Nigerians In the Diaspora Organisation UK South, popularly known as (NIDO UKS) 100 days in office – Our Journey So Far.

On the 21st of August 2021, NIDO UK SOUTH elections were held at the AGM and these officers emerged victorious and assumed their offices as follows: Chairmain – Prince Henry Egenti (PhD),

Vice Chairman – Mrs Susan Nguveren Waya, General Secretary – Hon Femi Ikutiyinu, Assistant General Secretary – Chibuzor Rosemary Onwugbonu, Financial Director – Niyi Zaccheus, Treasurer – Princess Ladidi Rimap, IT Director – Blessing Igwe, Welfare Director – Flora Olatokunbo Ezenwoye, Public Relation Director – Christy Amalu JP, Legal Adviser – Aisha Osigwe, Ex officio – Barr Sir Chibuzo Ubochi and Ctzn Omusa Baba Ohyoma.

During their tenure, the executives paid a courtesy visit to HE Ambassador Sarafa Tunji Isola, High Commissioner of Nigeria to the Court of St James, in recognition of His Excellency’s laudable initiatives at the High Commission that have ensured timely and focused service delivery to the Nigerian Community in UK. The executives under the leadership of Hon Henry Egenti PhD did give opportunities for members to lead committees gearing towards homeland development. Notable members volunteered to lead these committees. The executives co-opted Dr Rebecca Kral as the Assistant General Secretary & Membership Officer on 15th October 2021 following the resignation of Chibuzor Rosemary Onwugbonu 20th September 2021, few weeks after assuming office. Michael Ife was also co-opted as the Youth Affairs Director to keep the organisation going and working towards homeland development.

NIDO UK South attended the 2021 NIDOE AGM in Aberdeen from 11th – 13th of November and recorded the greatest number of participants ever to attend an AGM with a whooping members of 47 delegates. The Hon Chairman and this chapter won an unprecedented three awards at the AGM, namely: Certificate of Induction to the NIDOE Board of Trustees, NIDOE Chapter Chairman of the Year & Outstanding NIDOE AGM Chapter Award.

On Tuesday the 23rd of November, the executives were invited for the rollout of the world’s first ever enhanced E-passport outside Nigeria at the Nigeria High Commission, United Kingdom. The Chairman Dr. Henry Egenti delivered a goodwill message at the ceremony on behalf of the Nigerian community in the UK. Two days later, he was again invited to represent NIDO UK at the reception following the presentation of his letter of credence to Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth the Second at Prince Philip House, Carlton House Terrace. The reception was also attended by the Secretary General of the Commonwealth Rt Hon Patricia Scotland, Baroness Martha Osamor, MP Kate Osamor, His Excellency Seth George Ramocan, CD Jamaicas 13th High Commissioner to UK, His Excellency Albert Njoteh Fotabong, High Commissioner for the Republic of Caemroon in London, members of foreign missions, Foreign Direct Investors, friends of Nigeria and many other notable individuals from all walks of life.
